A little more about me...
I was born in LA, raised in South Korea, educated in Berkeley and Chicago (BA English 2006, UC Berkeley; MS Journalism 2011, Medill/Northwestern University), and hired in San Francisco and Seoul, and am now working in NYC. Describing where I'm from is a tad... complicated.
Professionally, I've worked for daily/online/trade news, magazines, book publishing and corporate PR — in the travel, fashion and finance sectors. But I've also designed websites, bartended, promoted for hip-hop radio, sold apparel for GAP and Victoria's Secret, and sung in a jazz and soul band. I once interviewed for a PR job with Korean rap ensemble Epik High.
Despite my whirlwind of a history, I remain steadfast to my love of storytelling, continuing to hone my craft. I love the publishing world and its ceaseless flow of creativity and inspiration.
Outside career, I have several hobbies, including singing, playing clarinet and piano, blogging, jewelry making, travel, video games, reading manga/watching anime, and reading novels. I also enjoy wrestling with my schnauzer mix pup Kenji.
